Montecarlo 30 Offshorer

Carlo Riva, founder of Riva Yard, is the mastermind behind the MonteCarlo Offshorer concept during the 70's. Just after he sold Riva to Bertram, Eng. Riva brought from the United States an innovative idea: the first deep V-step hull, a project that was highly innovative because the steps in the hull would create a certain "lift" effect on the hull, making it faster and lighter on the surface of the water. Bob Hobbs, a visionary mathematician and naval engineer, who invented the very first V-step design hull, was encountering big manufacturing problems in South Florida. Carlo Riva was close to him, and involved also Cal Connell (owner and founder of Mercruiser) and brought to Italy the innovative concept to be put into production. And the MonteCarlo Offshorer was born, at a small shipyard in Ventimiglia called "Mare e Sole", just a few miles off Monaco.
The MonteCarlo Offshorer quickly became "the" icon of the Cote D'Azur. 343 Offshorers were built in total: one of the most successful stories in the boat industry.
The unmistakable MonteCarlo Offshorer logo evokes strongly the concept of speed and at the same time the flamboyant years of Cote d'Azur “Dolce Vita". Today it is considered still one of the most stylish boats ever designed. More importantly, the hull and the below water lines are considered still today the best ever conceived, allowing great handling / seaworthiness, indeed allowing very fast speeds also in rough waters.
This MC30 mounts Twin BPM Vulcano 375 gas engines, the top level application available at the time of production of the Offshorer (4 out of 343 Offshorers were factory equipped with BPM Vulcano). 30% lighter thanks to many aluminium parts and 30% more powerful than the more popular Mercruiser gas engines (used also on most Riva Aquarama).
For extra reliability has added a sweet water system that washes the engines inside with fresh water after the days at sea. Salt water can with time corrode aluminium, and this improvement will lengthen the lifetime of the engines.
Following the works carried in the last years:
2019 - Fusion stereo system; electrical, hydraulic and mechanical system; BPM Vulcano 375 engines overhauling to 0 hours by BPM factory, now they have about 150 engine hours; new v-drive BPM mounting; new boat cover.
2022 - Hull, lines and deck varnishing; New upholstery of seats below deck; New driver seat, cockpit sofa and stern sundeck; new batteries.
